Construction & Destruction

The border wall has become one of the costliest and most destructive megaprojects in U.S. history. The Trump administration built more than 450 miles of wall, ramming barriers through protected public lands, communities, and pristine desert habitats.

Right up until Biden’s inauguration, construction crews continued to blast away mountains, mow down ancient cactuses, tear through sacred sites, and erect walls that stop migrating wildlife dead in their tracks.

Much of the devastation was severe and immediate, but the harm caused by wall construction will last thousands of years — long after we tear these senseless barriers down.
